SERG wishes to thank Corprit of Mount Gambier for the generous provision of this site

Club members and partners assemble in January 05 to farewell popular club member Kevin VK5KJ

The South East Radio Group (SERG) has club rooms in Mount Gambier, a town of 22,000 people near the South Australian border with Victoria. The club provides a focus for the pursuit of amateur radio as a hobby and with approximately 40 members within a 100km radius it is an active club. The members have an enthusiasm for construction, satellites, repeater systems, VHF, UHF, DXing, foxhunting and EPIRB location. The club has good links with local emergency organisations where our members speed and accuracy in locating emergency beacons (EPIRBS) and providing radio support has been of great help in emergencies.

Recent Amateur Radio Publicity

The club is proud to know this fine looking gentleman who starred in the Border Watch Newspaper this week (21/9/09)
Colin even tidied his benches and the floor - well kindof - but the photographer cropped the photo.
Well done Colin VK5DK

The club supported the Lighthouse weekend in August and here are some of operators hard at it as reported in the Kingston Leader

SERG Club Member Tony VK5ZAI nominated for Australian Senior of the Year

Club members were pleased that Tony Hutchison VK5ZAI was nominated to the short list for Australian Senior of the Year.
Tony has done an amazing job in supporting student voice contacts to the Space Station through Amateur Radio and it is wonderful to see this work acknowledged.

Legend of the Lakes Hill Climb

The South East Radio Group provides support to the South East Automobile Club for their "Legend of the Lakes" Hill Climb Event held in November. As a result of the communications and television links some of our members and friends have produced a DVD for sale to raise funds for club projects. If you're interested in purchasing the DVD please contact hillclimb2008@ozemail.com.au

The annual South East Radio Group Convention in June is a highlight on the calendar and this attracts wide interest, especially as it is the occasion for the Australian Fox Hunting Competition. This year fox hunting numbers were on target but fewer people through the door. Even so, most traders did quite well thanks to a few ardent buyers.
