It was a fun weekend, while it was my first activity weekend with my new
dish up and running and a new GS-15 PA working for me. I was very surprised
at some of the reports that I received on 1296 MHz.
26 June 29, 2009 OZ4MM heard, OZ6OL (55/55), VK3UM (55/55). G3LTF (54/54),
SV3AAf heard, JA4BLC (549/559). ES5PC heard at moon set but not contacted.
27 June K2DH (569/449), W1O (O/O), W5JGE (549/559), W5J (57/56), VE7BBG (O/O),
IK3COJ (559/559), SP6JLW (569/559), OH2DG (569/559), JA8ERE (569/449),HB9MOON
(55/55) spent some time talking to some children at the Zurich end of the QSO.,
G4CCH (55/56), SM6FHZ (559/449), Hb9SV (569/559).
28 June VE6TA (579/549), W1M (58/57), K0C (57/56), VK3UM (55/55), W5J (579/559),
RK3WWF (559/449) could not get down to moonset as the wind was gusting quite
high so I parked the dish for safe keeping.
I had to send QRZ quite a few times not because the signals were weak, mainly
because I and the rest of the visitors present were a little rusty on the CW,
it can only improve.
It’s great to be back on EME once again. Photos to follow.

The tower is up at VK5FOXX and VK5KEE
Eion and Paula would like to thank the South East Radio Group members for their help at the tower raising on 25 January 2009.
This was organised for Sunday 25th January, for a 11am start. Work began before this timeframe, which thankfully for the engineers present, utilised the time to firm up the base section of the legs (between ground and first horizontal bar). This ensured that the tower went up very smoothly and into place.
Of note, was some heavy duty "manufactured" hinges - made of angle steel, water pipe and steel rod - which enabled this to pivot the tower into place (5ZGY's marvelous idea). Once the tower was vertical. these hinges were removed.
The following is a list of those present (not in any particular order):
5DK - Colin (special thanks for spare tower parts)
5AV - Tim
5LAC - Crouchy + XYL Penny (events photographer with FOXX camera)
5DG - David
5HCF - Colin (events video capture)
5EE - Tom
5KET - Andrew
5ZGY - Greg (events organiser) + XYL Gabbi
5ZX - Wayne
5NC - Trevor
5XCP - Charles
5KTC - Terry + XYL Rita
