SERG Convention 2017

 

The 53rd Annual South East Radio Group Convention will held over the Queen's Birthday weekend Saturday June 10th and Sunday June 11th 2017. It's coming up fast and it's coming together nicely. If we can only arrange some good weather.

Program will be up very shortly and shouldn't be too different from last year as a rough guide.

Convention Entry Fee
Convention entry fee has been fixed again this year at $5.00 which covers entry for both days. It also get's you an entry in the door prize draw. We have been very fortunate in being able to keep the entry cost at this level for so long.

Raffle
There will also be a $1 raffle with a variety of different prizes which will be drawn Sunday night at the Dinner.

Sunday Night Dinner
The Dinner is on Sunday night again this year immediately after a presentation by David VK5DJR and the results of the Australian Fox Hunting Championships. The cost of the dinner has been kept to $25.00 a seat. Bookings are essential and can be made with Andrew at faws@internode.on.net
Payment can be made advance via EFT if desired but not a requirement. The menu can be found here.

2017 Australian Fox Hunting Championships
The Australian Fox Hunting Championships are another great part of the weekend and in keeping with the spirit of everything else the cost for the competition for the weekend has been kept the same as last year at $30.00 for the entire weekend. Registration for the Fox Hunts with with Andrew at vk5ket@wia.org.au when registering you can get EFT details if you wish to pay in advance. 

Come and Try Amateur Radio
On Saturday 10th there will be a come and try for anyone interested in Amateur Radio. This will be held at the Scout Hall (Convention Venue) between 1:00pm and 3:00pm. Various club members will be in attendance to demonstrate different radios and their capabilities.

The Home Brew competition will also be run again, free entry and good prizes you can't go wrong.

A Preliminary program will be up sometime in March.

We had a good number of visitors to the hall to peruse over the secondhand equipment and catch up with old friends.
