Wayne Kilpatrick - VK5ZX

It is with great sadness that the South East Radio Group announce the passing of Wayne Kilpatrick VK5ZX on the 25/5/2011.

Wayne was a past President and Life Member and was a valuable contributor to the club for over 30 years

He was active in the State Emergency Service and the local Tennis Association.

He will be missed by many.

Our thoughts and hearts go out to Wayne's family at this difficult time.

South East Radio Group 2011 Convention

SERG are once again hosting their annual convention over the Queens Birthday Weekend June 11th, 12th.
This year, for to a number of reasons, and in line with the recent trends in HamFest attendances,
the Trading and Buy, Swap and Sell will be a one day event.

Sunday 12th from 10:00am until 2:00pm
Venue: 1st Mount Gambier Scout Hall on Margaret Street (same venue as last year)

The Australian Fox Hunting Championship that are held in conjunction with the convention will continue to be a two day event. The first event kicking of at 11:00am on the Saturday.
We hope to see all the competitors from last year and there is word of a few returning.

With the venue closing at 2:00pm for the trading part of the convention the presentations will be held at the SERG Club Rooms at the Reidy Park Centre off O'Halloran Terrace.

David VK5HDW, vice president, is presenting a certificate of appreciation to Norbert VK5MQ on behalf of the South East Radio Group


SERG Club Rooms setup for a presentation by Adrian VK5ZSN, Terry VK5VZI, Matt VK5ZM and Grant VK5GR from AREG. Presentation was on Project Horus high altitude balloon flights that AREG perform. Adrian also spoke about the Bureau of Meterorology weather balloon release that occur regularly.
